With the ETX series, Electro Voice offers a number of ingenious speakers and subwoofer, including the ETX-15P. The built-in DSP offers an impressive number of options for adjusting the positioning and timbre of your sound. In ideal conditions, this solid speaker is capable of a deafening 135 dB of sound pressure.

The ETX-15P: DSP Power

The Electro Voice ETX-15P is driven by a powerful DSP engine, making it possible to adjust the speaker to perform optimally in any given environment. First off, you have the choice of Music, Speech, and Live settings. Depending on your choice, the speaker is optimised to reproduce your signal. You can then select your placement settings with the DSP, specifying whether the speaker is mounted on a stand or being used as a monitor. This setting optimises the internal EQ depending on the position you choose. For use in larger systems, a subwoofer setting is also available. When switched to subwoofer, the crossover is activated and the signal is split, sending the bass frequencies to the subwoofer output. The entire sound can be adjusted via the 3 pre-programmed presets with a limited number of additional adjustments. It is also possible to add a delay that’s adjustable by metre, which optimises the sound waves so that multiple speakers won’t cancel each other out when being used simultaneously.
