Low power, high-end 1×12” combo. Like the rest of George’s amplifiers, the ElDorado is also completely hand-made using the hand-wired, point-to-point technique. The standard speaker is a Celestion Vintage 30, although on request we can also deliver it with a Celestion Blue Alnico or a Gold Alnico. The amplifier delivers 15 watts in pure class A through a pair of TAD EL84-STR in the power stage. The rectification is valve-based. In the preamp it has a TAD E83CC Highgrade as the first valve and a pair of TAD ECC83. The sound is warm and very rich in harmonics and allows you to go from clean, crystalline tones to rock distortions that will surprise more than one. ElDorado is undoubtedly, along with the Tornado, the amplifier with the most tonal character of those that make up the GTA catalogue. It’s not to be envied by other American boutique amplifiers based on classic British circuits, but at a much more reasonable price.
The Pentode/Triode switch allows you to reduce the power by half to about 7 watts.
