General
Moog’s Subsequent 37 is the new and improved version of the renowned Moog Sub 37 Tribute Edition. While it looks very similar to the Sub 37, the American synth giant has given this new model’s mixer section twice as much headroom for even cleaner sound, particularly noticeable in duo performance mode. This makes the Subsequent 37 far better for quieter styles of music, among a vast array other things.
The Subsequent 37: Any Way You Want it
A true Moog needs to bring the noise too and the Subsequent 37 certainly does this and does it hard! The gain staging in the ladder filter has been redesigned to give the harmonic saturation and analogue compression a serious boost. The result of this is that the Subsequent 37 has a much richer low end. The MultiDrive circuit has been re-tuned too to give this paraphonic analogue synth a higher distortion level and when it’s used asymmetrically, the sound is even more vivid and complex.
Moog
It’s not for nothing that Moog has remained a solid favourite among synth fans the world over for decades now. The 40 controls and 74 switches on board the Subsequent 37 give you the familiar feel of tried-and-trusted Moog features in a contemporary suit, comprising of 256 presets; an outstanding keyboard; high-power headphone output; massive range of modulation options and even an included and entirely free software editor.
